Doily of the Week #25: Getting Ready for 4th of July

I’ve seen so many beautiful patriotic doilies around the blogland. And with the Independence Day approaching, I wanted to make one for our celebration table. Unfortunately, I was not able to find cotton crochet thread in dark blue.

So I had an idea of decorating our table with small red and white doilies and adding some other accents in dark blue. I already have a few small doilies in white, but I had to make one in red.

I used pearl cotton for this doily, and it came out a bit bigger than ten inches in diameter. This doily had only 12 rounds and was very easy to make. This would be a perfect doily project for beginner crocheters.

  1. Very cute doily and the red colour looks nice. I have decided to make the crocus doily in red colour... do you think it will look nice? Do let me know and I will post the picture when it is done.

    1. I've seen a crocus doily in red somewhere recently, don't remember where. I think it will look very pretty in red, especially if displayed on a white table or white tablecloth.
I'd love to see your crocus doily once it's finished.
